Patellar Tendinopathy

Patellar tendinopathy is commonly seen in athletes involved in jumping sports like volleyball, basketball, high, long or triple jumps or sports involving change of direction.

The pain is localised to the inferior pole of patella (below the patella). Normally the pain remains localised at rest and during loading. It is not associated with joint swelling, clicks/clunks or crepitation.

Aggravating factors: Repetitive loading like running, jumping, jogging, sport-related activities and prolonged sitting.
